Qatar Airways to Resume Doha-Yangon-Doha Flights

Union Minister for Transports U Nyan Htun Aung received the delagtion from Qatar Airways led by Vice President East Asia & South West Pacific, Senior Vice President Mr. Robert Yang and Mr. Joegendra Charles Rajadurai, Manager responsible for Myanmar, Cambodia and Thailand yesterday(May 9) at the Minsister’s office in Naypyitaw.

The two parties discussed matters related to the resumption of Qatar-Yangon-Qatar flights to be serviced by Qatar Airways beginning in October 2012.

It is learnt that the route will be serviced by A-319 and A 320 aircraft and fly 3 times a week between the two capitals starting on October 13, 2012 but will be expended to fly daily by October 28, 2012. Qatar Airways also said that they hope to upgrade to Boeing 777 type aircrafts depending on the demand.

Qatar Airways flew between Doha and Yangon 4 times a week beginning January 2005 but stopped in 2008.
